A sample question

One example, answer shown. Practicing the rest happens in the app.

You hold an out-of-state CDL and move to New York. How long do you have to apply for a New York CDL?

  1. 30 days after establishing residency(correct answer)
  2. 60 days after establishing residency
  3. Until your current CDL expires
  4. 10 days after establishing residency

You must apply within 30 days of establishing residency, because a New York CLP or CDL can only be issued to a New York resident.

This answer is not the same in every state

The 30-day window for transferring an out-of-state CDL is set by New York residency rules.

Go by the manual your state publishes — that is what your examiner grades.
